A bit of progress. Before we left tonight Ken was able to do a little thumbs up for the doctors and wiggle his toes on the right side. The left side was significantly weaker, but he did move his toes some.
Thank you everyone for all the love and messages. We are getting them and appreciating them, very much.
My favorite punctuation mark is the semicolon. And it's an apt metaphor for recent years of my life: it's more than a comma pause, not quite a period stop; it usually appears in the middle of a sentence; no one quite knows how to use it properly; it's a sigh of contemplation; a knowing wink; an upward glance of reflection.

ReplyDeleteGet some rest. That is good news.
ReplyDeleteWhen i called Nina to tell her of my latest brainstorm to get on the road and support kenny from the waiting room while you all slept, she said she'd go too. Shortly thereafter she talked to Zarra who has, apparently, been following all of the updates and the blog very carefully (and with great concern) and he said he wanted to go too. This was before you said no thanks, so I /we won't. But what I want to say is this: In that moment I imagined Nina and Zarra and I had made the trip to Mass General and they wouldn't let us in the building so we just waited outside, then Jamie boy came and Jason and Joel and Dan and Jack and Erika and Kitty and all of his friends from work, and on and on, growing and growing in numbers as word got out that Kenny needed us and soon we were practically encircling the building sending big love and energy up to Neuro ICU until he got the hell out of there. It was prettier in my head than it's coming now. I guess that's what we're doing from afar.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear some good news...I hope you're able to get some rest tonight. ♥
